How Does Vapor Abrasive Blasting Work?

How does vapor abrasive blasting work? Water, abrasive, and compressed air are 3 key components to vapor abrasive blasting. Combine water and the abrasive for your application and you are ready to begin blasting. Depending on your application this will determine your abrasive needed to process your parts. There are hundreds of different applications and abrasive mixtures that can be combined to achieve incredible results on any project. The key difference as well between dry and wet blasting is how long the abrasive lasts in the wet blasting process. The equipment then blasts these abrasive particles mixed with water onto the surface using compressed air. This Slurry will flow across the surface polishing or breaking up whatever you are trying to remove. The flow based nature of the vapor abrasive blasting process is what makes the process so unique. Rather than spraying dry abrasive at the part and damaging the surface vapor blasting is a much gentler process. It also makes the vapor blasting process mush cleaner than traditional dry blasting due to the lack of dust. It has been proven that consumables last 8-10 times longer in a wet blasting system than dry equating to money saved from operations. Also, the lack of dust created allows you to save floor space rather than needing those large and expensive dust collection systems. This is how vapor abrasive blasting works!
