How long does the abrasive last in a wet blast machine?

Watch this short video to learn more about how long the abrasive last inside of a wet blasting machine. Many different factors determine the abrasive lifespan but a general rule of thumb is 8-10 times longer for any consumable including the abrasive when comparing to a dry blasting machine. Substrate types and operating pressures will greatly have an effect on the deterioration of the abrasive. However, the water cushioning the abrasive impact on the part surface plays a key role in extending the life of the abrasive particles.
