What air compressor is needed

Have you ever wondered what size air compressor can be used to run a vapor blasting machine? Air compressors come in many configurations shapes and sizes. The first place to start is to understand the extent in which you will be using your air compressor. Are you a hobbyist or a commercial shop? For a hobbyist a smaller less expensive compressor will work just fine. However for a larger commercial shop you will want an air compressor that has a much better duty cycle and one that produces much more air than a hobbyist. The specification’s to run a vapor blasting machine are as follows: 15CFM @ 40-60 working psi. Please note that if you have an air compressor that is smaller than a 5hp it is likely you can run a vapor blasting machine just not for extended periods of time. However again if you’re a hobbyist then this shouldn’t be much of a concern for you. Always keep in mind that air plumbing in your shop is equally important too for best performance.
